Good News! Spiced Apple Cider Named a Good Food Awards Finalist

Updated: Feb 21, 2023

Exciting news! Three of Gowan's ciders are Good Food Award Finalists—Spiced Apple, Gravenstein, Classic Dry. The Good Food awards not only considers how delicious the cider is, they also look at the sustainability too.

"We're thrilled to be among the best ciders selected as finalists,' says Don Gowan. "We're farmers first, so we grow all of our own apples for the cider right here on our certified organic orchards. On top of that we bottle here too! Estate bottling is extremely rare, and gives us amazing control over the delicate heirloom apples."

It's been a banner year for Spiced Apple! Just this year it was also named Best of Class Cider in the San Francisco Chronicle—the largest wine competiton in the US

"Spiced Apple has been very popular cider" says Sharon Gowan. "People love this cider chilled, with food, brunch, and even with vanilla ice cream! And they're so excited to enjoy it warmed, Just like the 1000 year old tradition of warm wassail, people are toast to each other's good health and good fortune in the coming year."
