Welcome to Gowan’s Heirloom Cider, crowned Cidery of the Year 2025 at the Great American Beer Festival® (GABF), the nation’s top cider and beer competition! Our cidermaking team—Don, Jacob, and Sharon Gowan—also earned 2025 Cidermaker of the Year, and we brought home three gold medals and one silver for our organic, estate-grown ciders.

1876 (GOLD, Tannic Cider): Our semi-sweet flagship (5.8% ABV) celebrates our farm’s founding in 1876. Great with turkey, molé, pork, BBQ, cheese, and caramel anything.

Our Story
For seven generations, our family has grown heirloom apples in Philo, California. Every bottle of Gowan’s cider is pressed fresh from our certified organic orchards and estate-bottled onsite, capturing 150 years of love for this land. This year, as we celebrate our farm’s 150th anniversary, we’re thrilled to share these GABF honors with you—and our founder’s mother, who just turned 100, couldn’t be prouder!
