WHY GOWAN’S

Seven generations. One orchard. 150 years.

The same Gowan family on the same Anderson Valley land since 1876. Only 3% of family businesses survive to the fourth generation. Gowan’s is on its seventh.

100% estate-grown.

Every cider is made entirely from apples grown on the family’s Philo, California farm. No concentrate. No outside fruit. The terroir is the product.

120+ heirloom varieties. Certified organic.

One of the most diverse heirloom apple orchards in the world, curated by seven generations and farmed organically through the 2026 harvest — the farm’s 150th consecutive.

Three founding cidermakers, one family.

Don, Sharon, and Jacob Gowan develop every blend together — the Cidermaker of the Year team behind the world’s #1 ciders. 100% estate-bottled and estate-kegged on the farm.
