We're thrilled to share that Gowan's Macintosh Cider was named BEST CIDER, scored 97 points and Double Gold, in the prestigious San Francisco International Wine Competition!
Dry, tart and appley Macintosh is a pure applewine cider, where the flavor comes from the organic Macintosh apples. Grown and bottled on the Gowan Family Orchards makes this a rare estate cider, made where the apples grow.
"The SFIWC has become one of the world’s most respected wine competitions due in large part to our esteemed judges. Each with a distinct story and trusted palate, these seasoned experts are one of the reasons a SFIWC medal indicates the highest caliber of quality."
Judges use the same 100 point wine rating scale to evaluate ciders, and judge the competition 'blind' meaning the judges do not know the producer or orchard during the competition.
This is the fourth time that Macintosh has been named BEST in a major international competitions, including BEST in CLASS in GLINTCAP (largest cider competition in the world) in 2018 and, 2019, and Good Food Award Winner in 2020.
