Rooted in Resilience:
Our Soil Conservation Legacy
For generations, our family farm has been a pioneer in soil conservation, recognizing that healthy soil is the foundation of sustainable agriculture. As one of the first farmers in the region to adopt cover crops over 80 years ago on this land, we’ve long understood their power to prevent erosion, protect soil integrity, and conserve precious water resources.
Today, we’re proud to partner with the Mendocino Resource Conservation District to take our commitment even further. Together, we’re evaluating our soils—analyzing structure, organic matter, compaction, and nutrient levels—to develop a science-based plan tailored to our land. This collaboration marks the first step toward optimizing soil fertility, ensuring our farm thrives for generations to come while preserving the natural resources we depend on.
